Mr. Robert “Bob” Joseph Forshee age 80, of Brentwood, TN, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Mr. Forshee was born in Farmington, MO, on April 14, 1937, the son of the late Lytle Loren Forshee and Faye Anderson Forshee. He retired from State Farm Insurance after thirty-six years of service and was a member of Harpeth Hills Church of Christ. Mr. Forshee graduated from the University of Missouri in 1959 and moved to Nashville to pursue his songwriting career. He wrote several hit songs sung by Etta James, Burl Ives, Hank Cochran and others. Bob loved spending time with his wife, his grandchildren and playing the guitar. Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Nancy Strasser Forshee; a daughter, Sharon (Bruce) Haukohl; two sons, David (Sarah) Forshee and Mark Forshee; a brother, Tom Forshee; grandchildren, Michael Forshee, Lucas Forshee, William Haukohl, Robert Haukohl, and Charlotte Haukohl; a niece, Cindy (Bill) Forshee Young; a great-niece, Lily Young and great-nephew Adam Young. A Celebration of Life will be held privately. Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 from three o’clock until seven o’clock at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
