FLESHER, Robert (Bob) - Age 92, passed away on December 5th 2010. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Tennessee in 1957. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his first wife of 25 years, Mildred, his sons, Robert and James, his brother Earl and sister, Elaine Stover. He is survived by his loving wife Sue Rowland Flesher of 38 years; daughter-in-law, Susan Flesher of Franklin, TN; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; step-son, Neel Rideout of Memphis, TN; step-daughter, Linda Rideout of Nashville, TN and one step-grandson of Memphis, TN. Bob worked for and was associated with Murray Ohio MFG. Co for 52 years and retired as Vice Chairman and Director. During World War II he was in the service for 47 months. He was a First Lieutenant and flew on B 175. He was shot down twice. On the 7th mission he was shot down and landed in Russia for 5 weeks. On the 19th mission he was shot down, bailed out and was taken prisoner by the Germans. He received the Purple Heart and Air Medal, with 2 clusters. Mr. Flesher belonged to Hillwood Country Club and was a past Director. In the past he belonged to Royal Poincienna Club in Naples, Florida. He was past President of Lawrenceburg Country Club, Director of First National Bank of Lawrenceburg, Director of Martin College of Pulaski, TN, and Executive Board of Boy Scouts. Funeral service will be held 11:30, Thursday, December 9, 2010 with The Reverend Dr. Richard F. Rouquie officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include: Chaddy Baker, Jim Bellamy, George Gianikas, George Armistead, Sam Christopher, Tommy Haile, Dr. Leslie Doss, Bob Hash, Gerrald Smith, Ed Shoenberger, Walter Bennywood, Tommy Edwards and Bill Boslett. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alive Hospice of the charity or your choice. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at WOODLAWN-ROESCH-PATTON FH, (615)383-4754.
