Richard Scott Osborne of Nashville, Tennessee, died at home on December 28, 2015. A native of Kansas, Mr. Osborne was the son of the late Richard and Barbara Scott Osborne and was preceded in death by a brother, Robin and a sister, Cindy.
Mr. Osborne was a graduate of Vanderbilt University, BA in English and Columbia University, MS in Journalism. Winner of eleven Emmy Awards, he had a career as a producer, correspondent and on-air presenter which included stints with NASA, Rockwell International, Siemens AG, Chrysler Corporation, American Express, Walt Disney Studios, Fox Television Network, Paramount Pictures, NBC News, ABC News and CBS - owned stations in New York and Los Angeles.
He and his wife of 48 years, Rebecca Clemons Osborne, had traveled much of the world and were advocates for animal welfare and rescue. As avid Nashville Predators' Fans, he and his wife were regulars at home and away games.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Osborne is survived by sisters-in-law, Doris Clemons (Carroll) Wallace of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Ruth Clemons Donnelly, of Louisville, Kentucky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Nashville Humane Association, Metro Animal Care and Control, and the ASPCA (aspca.org). Mr. Osborne's family is grateful to the staff at St. Thomas Hospital as well as friends and family for their care and concern.
