Raymond Clark Hutton Jr., age 79, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Raymond was born October 24, 1942 in West Nashville, Tennessee to the late, Raymond Clark Hutton, Sr. and Hazel Elizabeth Graves Hutton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Osborne Hutton; son, Mike Swayze; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Ray Steakley, and loving relatives, Jocie Mai & Red Hows.
Ray is survived by son, Wayne (Lisa) Swayze, granddaughters, Marcia (Casey) Steakley, Melissa (Dustin) Wiggins; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Madelyn Steakley and Kylie and Kinsley Wiggins; sister, Janice (Bob) Woodburn; nieces, Susan (Darrell) Pittman and Janine Krueger; great-nephews, Kevin Evans, Austin and Chase Krueger.
Ray was a native Nashvillian, who after high school, enlisted in the United States Navy. After returning home, he worked for over twenty years at AVCO Manufacturing, retiring as a supervisor. Ray was a master mason with the Doric Lodge #732 F&AM, he obtained his 32nd degree Scottish rite in 1984 and joined the Al Menah Shrine Temple of Nashville, that same year.
Ray was a family man, he was proud to be a father, grandfather and especially a great-grandfather. Anytime the girls would come in a room, his face was always a glow. Ray was known for hosting pool parties and spending time with family and friends. He would be found most days peering through his binoculars, overlooking the bluffs, playing bingo or watching Gunsmoke. He enjoyed his friendships and was known as a ladies man, while at Harmony.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 11am-2pm with a memorial service conducted at 2pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
