Mr. Montgomery was born on November 26, 1930 in Red Boiling Springs, TN, son of the late J.L. Montgomery and Leona Davis Montgomery.
At the age of twelve Ray and his family relocated to Kittrell, TN where he would meet his future wife Loudelia at the Halls Hill School. A few years later they reconnected again while working together at The Bakery during World War II. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he learned his lifelong trade and passion as an aviator and master mechanic.
He is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Loudelia Montgomery; Sons, Dan Montgomery (Sherry) and Tim Montgomery (Cheri); Grandsons, Nick, Chris, Matt, Michael and Brad (Tara) Montgomery; great-granddaughter, Hallie Montgomery; sister, Louise Smithson; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two-thirty in the afternoon on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Homes’ Dignity Hall.
A Visitation will be held from four o’ clock in the afternoon until eight on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
