NELSON, Ramon, age 95, passed away on June 19, 2013. He was born on February 23, 1918 in rural Lawrence County Tennessee. He was the last living child of nine of Luther Martin Nelson and Jesse Belle Dempsey. He is survived by two sons Richard Travis Nelson of Nashville and Donald Martin Nelson (Sandy) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great- great grand children. Ramon was married three times and his wives predeceased him. He served in the U S Army Air Corp during WWII and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Ramon was trained as an air traffic controller and he continued this career path first, with the Civil Aviation Agency, and then with the Federal Aviation Agency. Visitation will be held from five until eight o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 21st of June, at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 22nd of June at Woodlawn Memorial Park with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be the elders of the Donelson Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Donelson Church of Christ.
