Rachel Clarice Sweeney, known to most as Clarice, passed away peacefully on [date] at [place] at the age of 82. One of the sassiest, most strong-willed, and truly genuine ladies the world will ever know, she was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Clarice was born on August 15, 1931, the daughter of William Clark Bull and Margaret Bull (later Margaret Gingles). She grew up in West Nashville with siblings Corinne, Billy and attended Cohn High School. She married Claude Gray Sweeney on March 28, 1948, in Franklin, KY. The couple had 2 daughters, Patty and Diane.
Clarice was a charismatic people-person and brilliant conversationalist. She worked as a switchboard operator at the Opryland Hotel, Frank Davis Buick, Saturn of Rivergate, and Northlake Auto Mall. She was an avid bowler and doll collector and loved spending time with family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include: Sister, Corinne (Dick) Spurlin, Leary, GA; Daughters, Patricia Ann (Bradley “Butch”) Newsock, Richmond, IN, and Diane (Robert) Hampton, Charlotte, TN; Grandchildren, Daniel Jason (Theresa) Swanson, Naples, Italy, Brandie Vance Brown, Indianapolis, IN, Bryan (Tricia) Vance, OH, Janet (Jeff) Weimar, Coralville, IA; 6 Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her father, Clark, mother, Margaret, brother, Billy and husband, Claude.
