Philip Lawrence Stack, 92, of Mary Queen of Angels Assisted Living Center in Nashville, TN, passed away on July 15, 2021. He was born on February 16, 1929, to Joseph and Susan Hudock Stack in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He graduated from Wilkes-Barre High School then attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre for 2 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. He went on to receive his master’s and doctoral degrees from Catholic University of America in Washington DC. Dr. Stack married Fe’ Elizes Cabuso on January 25, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Danville, PA, the city where they met. Dr. Stack’s career in clinical psychology involved working at psychiatric hospitals in Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Dakota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. He was a member of the American Psychological Association and had a passion for writing poetry, books on raising children, making greeting cards for multiple occasions, and song writing including the number 1 hit “Renew”. He volunteered in the Boy Scouts of America as a den leader and high adventure leader.
Dr. Stack is survived by his wife of 63 years Fe’, children Gregory, Lawrence, Philip, Lucille (Schrum), Frederick, Robert; grandchildren Carrie High, Michael Kelley, Grady, Laura (Reid), Andrew, Emily, Taylor (Pyle), Meredith (Carter), Lindsey, Joshua, Elijah, Jaclyn, Madison, Tatum, Kiya, Riley, Caston, Jayden, Brooklyn, and Kennady; great-grandchildren Trey (High) and Isla Rose.
Visitation followed by a memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 1 pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204. A burial service will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 10 am.
