Peter Joonbo Shim

Peter J. Shim passed away on May 10, 2022, at the age of 48 years. Peter will be remembered by his mother Ursula Shim, sister Rose (Kip) Pierce, and nephews Benjamin and Alexander Pierce. He will also be remembered by his extended family in CA, VA, and South Korea.

Peter was preceded in death by his father, Jay Won Shim.

Peter was born on June 29, 1973 in Seoul, South Korea, was a resident of Nashville, TN from 1977, and graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy. He attended Indiana University Bloomington studying violin, and achieved his Bachelors of Music from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Peter had a long dedicated career in the computer technology field.

Peter was a loving son, brother, and uncle. His creative soul flowed through his music and drawings. He was a wonderful friend to many. His natural tendency was to help and it was recognized by anyone who met him. He will be remembered for his kindness, constant humor, and sense of calm he displayed his entire life. He was a passionate bike rider, and has now found new trails to ride.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 31, 2022 from 6-8 p.m., at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home. There will be a private church service for the family with burial at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial donations in memory of Peter may be made to the American Heart Association.
