Orlan E. Lorton Jr.

Orlan E. Lorton Jr., formerly of Memphis, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 13, 2013. He is predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Bates Lorton, his brothers, Jefferson Davis Brookshier Lorton (Carrie), and Richard Lee Lorton (Mary) of Kansas City, Kansas. Mr. Lorton was born in Oklahoma City, OK and lived in Kansas City, KS, Memphis, TN and Nashville, TN. He was a graduate of Wyandotte High School in Kansas City; served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; and worked for Universal Underwriters for over 35 years. He was a long time member of Central Church in Memphis, TN. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Lorton, his son Orlan E. Lorton, III, and his wife, Jean P. Lorton, his granddaughters and their husbands Malinda Lorton Moseley (Stephen) and Helen Lorton Trabue (Christopher) and his great-grandchildren, Kyla Moseley, Calin Trabue and Quinn Moseley. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Vine Street Christian Church, 4101 Harding Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37205.
