Myrtle Dyer, 91, passed away peacefully and went home into the arms of Jesus on October 8, 2020. Mrs. Dyer was born in Cedar Hill, Tennessee. She attended Bell High School in Adams, TN., where she was Salutatorian, and the last surviving student of her graduating class, and Bell High School. Mrs. Dyer retired from 38 years in the Department of Employment Security, with the State of Tennessee. Mrs. Dyer was a long standing member of Woodmont Baptist church where she was a devoted member of the “Koinonia” Sunday School class.
She is survived by son Gil (Deborah) Dyer; granddaughter Jenny R.(Shannon Michael) Hayes; and several beloved nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by parents Gilbert T. Cox and Mary B. Cox; husband Johnny L. Dyer, son Daniel L. Dyer, sisters Mildred Danner, Dorothy Smith, Flora Cope, O' Dell Hart, Kathleen Robertson, and brother Gilbert S. Cox.
Visitation for Mrs. Dyer will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home Monday, October, 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Following, a Celebration of Life service will be conducted in the Woodlawn Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
