Mildred Louise Harris

Born on Monday, December 14, 1925, in Goodlettsville, she grew up during the Depression, along with her three brothers and one sister.

She worked at Dupont, for ten years, in Old Hickory. During the summers, on her vacation, she loved to go to Daytona Beach, Florida with her friends. She loved swing dancing and the jitterbug.

She met, and married, Frank Harris on October 4, 1952.

She taught her children to always respect and show consideration for others.

She raised four children and took them all to the Baptist church. She always had wonderful holiday and birthday celebrations, and she always made the birthday cakes from scratch.

Mildred was preceded in death by son, Ricky Harris.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra (Charles) McNeil of Fairview, TN, Janet Harris of Nashville, TN and Shelia Harris of Kennesaw, GA; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Eastland Chapel. Interment to follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held Monday, from 2:00-8:00 pm, and Tuesday, 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am.
