Was born in Nashville, Tennessee on November 26, 1919 and passed away in Nashville on June 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Allen Gray Batey and Frances Rowland Batey. She also was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, William Stanley Davis and daughter Frances Sue Davis Kimbrough. Survived by son Dr. William Gray Davis, and loving son-in-law James Gray Kimbrough, Sr.; grandchildren, James Gray (Judy) Kimbrough, Jr., Debra Susanne (Jim) Badalementi, Dana Renee Kimbrough, Stanley Allen (Tara)Davis, Shane Gray Davis and Parker Batey Davis; eight great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Mildred attended Howard school, Falls business school, and UT Nashville. She earned her GED. She was a member of the first group of Nashville’s school mother patrol at St. Patrick and later at Howard school. Mildred retired from the State Department of Employment Security after thirty years with the highest position ever achieved without a college degree.
She enjoyed travel especially to Florida and the mountains. Mildred also enjoyed reading, cross-word puzzles, and crochet for competition.
She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She gave end of life care for her parents, husband and aunt.
Mildred was a member of the Madison Church of Christ for over fifty years and had a healthy relationship with her God.

Visitation will be held from five until eight o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 25th of June, 2014 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two thirty in the afternoon on Thursday, the 26th of June, in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Pastor Norman Slate officiating. A visitation will also be held from twelve until two o’clock in the afternoon prior to the service. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
