Michael "Mike" Edward Phelps, age 51, of Smyrna, Tennessee passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. Mike was born February 5, 1971 in Nashville, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Phelps and grandmothers, Hazel Odom and Sarah Beatrice Tidwell.
Michael is survived by his wife, Stephanie Phelps of Smyrna, Tennessee; his mother, Joan Phelps of Nashville, Tennessee; sons, James Phelps of Nashville, Tennessee and Michael Phelps, II of Nashville, Tennessee; aunts, Mary Ann Chasteen and Janet Pomeroy both of Smyrna, Tennessee and Kim Milliken of Nashville, Tennessee; uncles, Walter Carl Odom of White Bluff, Tennessee and Jeff Odom, White House, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Cathy Gartner of Smyrna, Tennessee; his fur babies, Patches, Stripe and Hailey.
Michael was a generous loving sprit who always gave to others selflessly. He was a die hard University of Alabama fan and a huge Green Bay Packers fan. He was a Lawn Care Specialist providing services through his business, Phelps Lawn Care, serving the Rutherford and Davidson County Areas.
Michael loved to travel, beginning at young age with his parents, empiercing traveling abroad to Europe and Asia. He and Stephanie enjoyed trips to New Orleans, New York and Kansas City. Michael could always be found outside, whether in the yard or on the grill cooking. His charm and whit created immediate attraction to those who met him. Michael was gifted with decorating for holiday's and home décor.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from four until seven in the evening on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home where the service will be streamed live on Facebook @Woodlawn-Roesch or join the live stream link on our website below. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
