Mickey is preceded in death by her mother Patricia Jackson Miller and her brother Allen Blair Miller.
Mickey is survived by her beloved husband Thomas Clay Faulkner of 48 years; her father Eldon B. Miller; her loving sisters Patty (Paul) Wertz and Nancy (Bo) Burt; her devoted children Kim (Chuck) Leisure, Terri Faulkner, and Tricia (Kevin) Johnson; her grandchildren Ashley and Alex Leisure, Nicole and Brittany Vinson, Cooper and Camren Johnson; her great-grandchild Ayden Vinson; along with several nieces and nephews.
Mickey’s greatest passions were her faith in Jesus, her family, her friends and living life to the fullest. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had an enormous heart for people. She never knew a stranger, always saw the best in others, and was a friend to all.
Her strong faith was evident in the way she lived her life. She faced her illness with grace and unyielding courage. A battle she fought for 28 years, during which she never complained and always had a smile on her face. Through it all, her heart’s desire remained for others to come into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
We would like to say a special thank you to Brentwood Baptist Church, John Gering’s Sunday School Class, and the many women’s groups she was a part of-you all meant so much to her. We are forever grateful for the endless prayer support, love, and meals provided over the years.
Thank you also to her doctors for their loving care and commitment: Dr. Anthony Greco, Dr. Karl Vandevender, Dr. Claude Workman, as well as their caring staff.
A celebration of Mickey’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 4 p.m. with visitation prior to the service at 2 p.m. at Brentwood Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Graceworks Ministries in memory of Mickey Faulkner. This is a Christian ministry that she and Clay have supported for many years. Graceworks Ministries, 104 Southeast Parkway, Franklin, TN 37064. http://graceworksministries.net/
