Jodie Jacoway, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 8, 2014. With her warm smile, Jodie was described as wonderfully kind, loving, giving, stylish, independent, and determined. She was a constant source of strength and encouragement for her children and their families. She was a member of The Hillsboro Presbyterian Church and participated in Community Bible Study for several years. Jodie was an avid reader and sports enthusiast; and in years past, played tennis and bridge regularly. Throughout the years, her pets were sources of joy and comfort. She was born in Nashville on September 28, 1929, the daughter of Joseph Stone and Ruth Daisy Harvey Stone. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 32 years, Boyd G. Jacoway. She is survived by her children: Candice Johnson of Chicago, Karen Furlong (George) of Nashville, Ray Johnson of Knoxville, and Teresa Reid (Alan) of Prattville, AL; two step-children: Anne Jacoway Abney (Bill) of Marshall, TX and Boyd Jacoway Jr. (Mindy) of Nashville; grandchildren: Woodrow Speed (Emily), Benjamin Speed (Samantha), Kathryn Reid, Sarah Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Will Abney (Mikell), Allen Abney (Hannah), Delaney Jacoway and Erin Furlong; and great-grandchildren: Miles Abney, Peyton Abney, Ben Abney, Jack Abney, Wright Abney, and Kadence Clark; and her siblings Barbara Morgan, Maria Elliot (Henry), and Michael Stone (Anne); as well as several nieces and nephews.
