Whitten, Martha Rutledge, 91, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on May 7, 2022. Martha was born on January 14, 1931, to Marvin Carlton and Amna B. (Moore) Rutledge in Nashville TN.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband David “Coach” Whitten, and siblings Judy Allen, Thomas “Bubba” and Wiley Rutledge. She is survived by her children Mary Ruth Smith and her husband Thomas and their children Houston and Haley; Jonathan David Whitten and his wife Diana and their daughter Fiona; Molly Adams and her husband Tony and their children Matthew, Channing, Andrew, Lydia and Austin Adams; sisters Betsy Finch and Mary Scarbrough, along with many special nieces and nephews and a great number of close friends.
A small graveside service will be held for the family. If you would like to do something in her memory, a donation can be given to Belmont Baseball or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
