A friendship that goes back for decades cannot be replaced by anyone else.  Martha was always a good friend as we worked together on countless projects at McKendree Church.  Martha was always interested and supportive of whatever we did in our lives.

I was so honored to count Martha as a mentor and friend.  She was alway there to lend a gentle hand of re assurance when I arrived at McKendree with my family.  She embraced us as her own with her wisdom and love to guiding us through the transition.  I am so grateful for her support of Stephen, standing with him in some challenging times at McKendree.  I will always admire her dedication to UMW and her patience .  I will miss her dearly.  Praying for you and the legacy she leaves.

Mrs Martha was so precious to our family and one of the saints-on-earth who loved and taught all three of our children. In the early 1980’s when we were a very young couple with a tiny toddler (Katie), she welcomed us to McKendree and kept Katie in the nursery on Wednesday evenings. 

Our memories of Martha will be of her devotion, compassion and her servant’s heart. Bobby and Jimmy, we will hold you and your families close in our thoughts. 

I always enjoyed sitting with Martha at our alumni luncheons.  As life-long Methodists, we had much in common.  A very caring person,  Martha was so proud of her sons and her precious grandchildren.  Our loss is heaven’s gain.

She was a great lady and will be missed.  

Martha had been a dear friend of mine since I first arrived in Nashville from Louisiana in the fall of 1966.  We met at a  Sunday School class of McKendree Methodist Church.  She was most welcoming to me, and we went on to share many enjoyable things through the years to come.  One regular activity was to have family dinners together each year at the time of the Super Bowl.  She will be greatly missed.       Tilden Curry

Martha will definitely be missed. I had the pleasure of serving with her on the Children's Team at church (MUMC) for the past few years.  We shared many stories and laughs. She was a very wise woman and Kimberly enjoyed her being in class. She was a true inspiration to her family and our church. Praying for the family! Prov 3:5-7 amen. 



I met Martha while attending McKendree and then I would see her frequently when she brought her Belmont Nursing students to the nursing unit I worked on at Baptist Hospital.
She was a blessing to everyone she came in contact with, always having a smile and a kind word.
Your mother was a very special lady and I will miss her.

Martha was a dear friend, especially during our pastorate at McKendree UMC  in the 70's-80's.  I know of no one more faithful to her family, her church, and her friends than Martha.  My love and prayers and sympathy to Jimmy and Bobby and families, and I know they will extend her legacy of love for others and faithfulness to our Father in Heaven.  At Thanksgiving time, I give thanks for Martha and what she meant to me and my family.  M.F.C.

Martha you ALWAYS took great care of us as children and into our teens. I can never thank you enough for all you did for us and our McKendree Youth Group. Jimmy & Bobby I am thinking of you both and sending many prayers and hugs!!

I have known Martha for many years through United Methodist Women and have traveled with her to many meetings.  What a living testament of God's love and grace she was!  She will be missed so very much.  My prayers are with you all.
