

STANLEY, Sr. Mack Bryan – Age 81 of Nashville, Tennessee, died the 20th of February 2013. He was born on the 14th of March 1931 in Sparta, TN to the late Luther Thomas and Rhea Simmons Stanley. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Horne Stanley; his children, Mack Bryan Stanley, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Edmund Luther Stanley and daughter-in-law, Tam Baker Stanley; and two grandchildren, John Mack Stanley and Charles Gray Stanley, all of Franklin, TN; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Jessie Coleman, Ruby Carmack, Thelma Hutchings, Ann Butler; brothers, Henry (infant) and Joe T. Stanley. He grew up in Crossville, TN and attended the University of TN, Knoxville. He served in the U.S. Air Force, then moved to Knoxville, to work for Union Carbide K25 at Oak Ridge, then worked for Rowe Transfer, and later moved to Nashville and worked for Ray Carter Trucking of Memphis. He went into the trucking business for himself in 1964 and remained in the Nashville area for the rest of his life, later building condos and developing commercial real estate, especially around Crossville and Sparta. He enjoyed golf and some traveling in his earlier years, but later in life his favorite pastime was raising, showing and caring for his Arabian horses. He was a member of Woodmont Christian Church and enjoyed the Monday afternoon 4:00 Men’s group, all of whom are invited to be honorary pallbearers. A Celebration of Life service will be held at twelve noon on Saturday, the 23rd of February 2013 at Woodmont Christian Church, Hillsboro Road, with Rev. Clay Stauffer and Dr. Roy Stauffer officiating. Visitation will be held with the family at the church from four o’clock until six o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 22nd of February 2013 and again Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Those to serve as Active Pallbearers include his sons, Bryan, Jr. and Ed, Sid Stanley, Greg Stanley, Craig Stanley, and Steve Moore. Honorary Pallbearers include Robert Agee, Wendell Spicer, L.T. Thurman, Bob Mitchell, Vaughn Swafford, Tom Bean, and Jim Bean.
