She's now in a place where there's no pain and suffering.

We were estranged at the time of her death but I look back in fondness, at some of my childhood memories that I shared with our grandmother. It wasn’t easy for any woman born in the 1950 ‘s. I truly believe that she did the best she could. My fondest memories of her are the times that she would use the same edible candy canes to put on her Christmas tree that she would reuse every year. I remember snatching one off of the tree one year and spat it out as soon at it touched my tongue. My granny couldn’t stop laughing at the face that I made and told me «I bet you won’t do that again, now will you? » I couldn’t have been more than seven years of age. It’s safe to say that I don’t eat candy canes to this day. Every time I see them, I am reminded of her. With much love and well wishes for the family. I hope that you are able to look back, laugh, and for a moment set aside your heartache. —Candace
