STEED, Lena Willene (Breeding) passed away Sunday morning August 4th at her home surrounded by family. She was 81 years old. Willene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, William Rozelle Steed Sr. She was also predeceased by her parents, Willard D and Ida Saylors Breeding and 4 of her 11 Brothers and Sisters. She is survived by her three children Debra Deason and husband Larry, William R Steed, Jr. and Cindy Steed. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Wesley Deason, Elizabeth Deason and Larry Deason Jr and his wife Laura. Willene was born in White County in 1932. She graduated from White County High School and moved to Nashville to attend Draughon’s School of Business. She worked at First Federal Credit Union until she married. She and her husband Bill then established Dixie Business Systems, representing Tab Products, which was the first company to provide punch cards to Nashville businesses. She was a true professional and they worked side by side enjoying many trips around the country, making lifelong friendships. She also help to establish Innovative Office Systems, which was also a family business. Of all her accomplishments, Willene’s greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. She was the glue that held her family together and her loss leaves a hole that can never be filled. Her kind and generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more. Willene was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a wife, a grandmother, an aunt, a cousin, and a friend. This beautiful and graceful woman will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her. She leaves all her children and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved and they know that she loved the Lord. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 3pm until 7pm at Marshall Donnelly & Combs Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated in a small service by family and close friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice. Their wonderful care and devotion will never be forgotten.
