My dearest husband Dennis who passed away 1/1/21 and my dearest brother Ken who passed away 12/1/22,  This was taken in Hilton Head on one of the two trips we took there together. I loved this photo because I can tell by the look on Dennis's face that Ken just said some thing funny or goofy. I love them both so much and will miss them forever.  Cindy Wick, Az

Ken Talbert is one of the best men I know. Every time I saw him, he had something encouraging or funny to say. He is one of my favorite people and I will miss him terribly until we meet again in heaven. When I get there, I fully expect him to say something like, "What took you so long?" 

Ken has a wonderful wife and family. His wife, Sharon, and I sang together in the choir of our church in Lenoir, until they moved to Nashville to be near their son, David, and his family. Ken was always there in church to listen and offer positive feedback. 

His son, David, had a gourmet popsicle store in Lenoir, which I loved. I was in there so often, to eat and to chat, that he hung one of my paintings on the wall. Ken and Sharon were often there, helping out. It was a happy, family-oriented place that the Talberts blessed Lenoir with for a short time.

I miss the Talberts and all the love and friendship they shared with me. They're good people, who love the Lord and who like to laugh. May the Lord bless you and keep you, Talberts; may He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

I knew Ken was proud of being a veteran. I didn't know how much until I had a visit with Sharon and Ken. For years they would visit with me when it was time for my birthday. This time was different.

I met them at a little mall. There was a food court. Ken walked over to an elderly man wearing a baseball cap and glasses. I think at the time Ken was wearing both also.

Ken looked the man in the eye as he shook his hand and said "Thank you for your service." They talked for a while. I count my grandfather as a hero.
I also count Ken as a hero. I will miss him very much. Ken, thank you for your service.
