A proud American, Kenneth served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, where he worked on the C-130 Hercules aircraft for four years. After his military service, he pursued his education at Draughons Business Colleges and went on to build a lasting career with the Tennessee Board of Education, where he worked as a Supervisor in the Bindery Department for over 30 years.
On July 7, 1973, Kenneth married the love of his life, Donna Ford, in Nashville, Tennessee. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family values. Kenneth was a leader, a loyal friend to many, and a man known for his strength, generosity, and thoughtful nature. Above all, he cherished his role as "Poppy" to his grandsons, who were the light of his life.
Kenneth enjoyed the simple joys of life—working in the yard, feeding birds, watching football and basketball, and tinkering with his beloved old Mustang. In his younger years, he loved to fish and spend time outdoors. Kenneth also took private pilot lessons and enjoyed talking about his training. He was also a proud member of the Music City Mustang Club, where he connected with fellow car enthusiasts.
Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Ford; beloved grandsons, Harley Ford, Kaiden Ford, Phillip Brent Ford Jr., and Blake Ford; brothers, Charles Ford and Ricky Ford; sisters, Judy Hunter and Doretha Jowers; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Georgia Ford; his sons, Kenneth Ford Jr. and Phillip Ford Sr.; and brothers, Carl Ford and Edward Ford.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 p.m., with graveside service immediately afterward.
Kenneth Ford’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
