Kathy was a free spirit who enjoyed playing and seeing live music and excelled in a long and successful career as a cosmetologist. Family was very important to Kathy; always wanting to be present for her nieces and nephews, and more recently adoring her grandchildren through her marriage to George.
Kathy started her career in cosmetology at an early age, right out of high school. She worked at several shops in Virginia, Florida, Oregon and Tennessee, as well as owning her own businesses on two separate occasions. After many years in Big Pine Key, Florida, Kathy settled in St. Augustine where she took pride in being a single home owner.
Kathy loved all genres of music, it uplifted her soul. A favorite quote was, “Music is the way of life, calms the mind and lifts the spirit.” Kathy enjoyed playing the acoustic guitar and loved both classic and alternative rock. Some of her favorite artists were, Tom Petty, the Moody Blues, The Allman Betts Band, Government Mule, and Elton John. She enjoyed picking up her guitar and just playing along to whatever song was on her mind or on the radio.
Kathy finally achieved her dream of true love when she met George through a mutual friend. They kindled their relationship long distance and decided to move Kathy to Nashville in 2018. When George proposed to Kathy, the engagement was appropriately sealed with a new Taylor guitar.
Kathy loved her fur babies, especially cats, all her life. When she met George, her love eventually extended to a rescue dog they both adopted. She even made the dog frozen dog popsicles. Kathy’s gentle and loving spirit was always full of laughter and music.
