Kate Jean Petty

Kate Jean Petty, age 94, of Lebanon, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. She was born in Nashville, TN on September 17, 1929. Kate spent most of her life in the Middle Tennessee area, she graduated from Corinne L. Cohn High School on June 6th, 1947.

Kate married the love of her life James Robert Petty Jr. on October 19th 1946 in Franklin, Kentucky. Together they raised four beautiful children. Kate worked for the Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy for 17 years. Upon retirement she spent her free time taking care of her grandchildren whom she loved and adored dearly.

Kate was an exceptional Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and friend to many. She is remembered as being an Angel on Earth. She was beautiful inside and out. Kate loved her family dearly and spending time with them was her greatest joy.

Kate is survived by her two daughters, Keely Petty Moore and Lois Denis Petty (Tom) Ford; Daughter-in-law, Linda Petty; Grandchildren, Dakota Weston Moore, Gavin Riley Moore, Hannah Elizabeth Ford, Jonah Michael Ford, Nathaniel Thomas Ford, James Robert Petty, Ronald Edward Petty Jr., Mark Thomas Petty and Michael Ray Petty; and Ten Great-Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Petty Jr.; Sons, Ronald Edward Petty and Thomas Eugene Petty.

A Graveside Service for Kate will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 2:00 O'Clock in the afternoon at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
