June Batsel

June married Ed Batsel in 1958 and was known by many titles during

the years that followed. She was “My Bride” to Ed,”Mom” to Reid and Amy and “Gran” to her six grandchildren Brock, Seth, Rachel, Carli, Morgan and Steven.

June graduated from Cumberland University in 1990 with a degree in Business Administration. During her 20 year career in the Insurance field she was employed by Safeco and Cigna Insurance companies. The last ten years of her career were with Willis, an insurance broker. She retired in 1996 as an Assistant Vice President.

After retirement June was passionate about spending time with her grandchildren, traveling with Ed, serving in church leadership and her hobby making quilts. During her time in leadership at Belmont UMC she chaired Finance, the Administrative Board and Staff Parrish. She served as a member of the Trust Fund Board and as Lay Leader of the church. She was also a Certified Lay Servant in the

Local congregation. In her leadership roles, she believed listening to one another was the glue that held a group together.

June was a member of the Graham Inquirers Sunday School Class and was active in the United Methodist Women.

She was a member of the Music City Quilt Guild.

Preceded by a private burial, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 22, at her church, Belmont United Methodist Church, 2007 Acklen Avenue, Nashville, TN, 37212. Visitation will begin at 2:30pm with the service to follow at 4:00pm.

The service will be live-streamed via Facebook Live and YouTube.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Belmont United Methodist Church for the June Batsel Memorial Fund.
