Judith Wiles Crow Barr of Nashville passed away December 30, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas Calhoun Barr, Jr. and parents, Mary Neely Crow and Alexander Bethel Crow. She is survived by first cousins: Jeffrey W. Buntin, Sr. (Varina F.); John C. Buntin (Sally B.) and Betty B. Finucane (Brendan) all of Nashville. Carol G. Gregory (Phil) and Jim Grubbs (Susie) of Louisville Ky. Other survivors include her goddaughters: Varina Buntin Willse, Kathryn Bennett Trainor, her namesake, Judy Jessen Guido and step children; Maridel Menting, Melisa Gibson, Dr. Thomas C. Barr, III.
She was an elder in the Downtown Presbyterian Church where she devoted both time and energy to working with Church projects.
A native of Franklin, KY, she was the initial recipient of the “Miss Simpson County” Award and was active in a number of leadership positions. She attended Agnes Scott College and later graduated from the University of Kentucky where she majored in Communications and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Following graduation, she was employed by WLAC-TV in Nashville and later at Cain Sloan Co. as Chief Creative Copywriter and Broadcast Director. In this role, she managed the advertising and promotion content for the Nashville based retailer. Her work in the creative field led to her membership in the American Women Radio and Television.
While living in Lexington, KY with her husband who was a Professor at the University of Kentucky, she bred and showed AKC champion dachshunds. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra League, The Centennial Club, Belle Meade Plantation, Cheekwood, The Hemerocallis Society and founder of The Breast Cancer Research (Vanderbilt) Fund under the auspice of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Graveside service 11:00 a.m. January 6th at Green Lawn Cemetery,
Franklin, KY.
