Joy Victoria Bland

Joy graduated from Central High School in Fayetteville, Tennessee. She was married to James Alton Bland on April 22, 1961 in Florence, Alabama. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt to her family. Joy was a member of TOPS, Woodbine Senior Citizens and GHS Band Booster.

Joy was survived by her daughters, Michelle Algood and Vickie Murphy (Kenneth Murphy); grandchildren, Paige Weldon (Mike Weldon), Kevin Taylor, Kayla Taylor, Shelby Murphy, Delaney Murphy (Bryan Olazaran) and Tyler Murphy; her great-grandchildren, Hunter Weldon, Cayson Hawkins, Lily Taylor, Alexis & Brayden Pickle, Mahki Murphy, Annaleigh & Emilia Olazaran, Everly Murphy, Michael Weldon, Jr., Hanna Weldon and Abby Weldon; bonus great-grandson, Joseph Olazaran; her siblings, Arthur Bartlett, Rachel Storey and Marilyn Head. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents, John Sutton & Annie Bartlett; her husband, James Alton Bland and her siblings, Gloria Sanders and H. Levoy Bartlett.

A gathering of family & friends for Joy will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM.

A graveside service will occur Friday, December 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
