Joseph William Tripp Jr., departed this life on March 25, 2012. He was born in Winchester, TN on October 31, 1920, to the late Joseph W. Sr. & Ester Tripp. He fought during WWII, in the Navy Seabees Construction Battalion. Joe worked for L & N Railroad for 30 years, as an electrician, & was known as the man, who could fix anything. He retired in 1982, at age 62, spending the next 29 years of his life, gardening, playing with grandchildren, fixing things, and helping others. Most importantly, he was a devoted member & deacon of Radnor Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include, his wife of 67 years, Sara Frances Tripp; daughters, Cheryl Thorpe, Diane Brush, Debra Box & Kathy Cole; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Ruth Vester & Mary Vaughn (he was the eldest of 9 siblings). The family will receive friends from 4p.m.-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Radnor Primitive Baptist Church, 503 Brewer Drive, Nashville, TN 37211 with Elder Shannon Whipp officiating & Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Radnor Primitive Baptist Church. Pallbearers, Daniel Box, David Box, Randy Box, Ron Box, Dewey Cooksey, Dewey Garland, Dan Russell & Jimmy Thorpe.
