Jonathan Austin Parker (Jon, JP, Jonni P) of Nashville, TN, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on November 9, 2024, at the age of 58. Jon was born on June 4, 1966, in Murray, KY. He spent his early years in West Tennessee then moved with his family to multiple cities as his father progressed in his career in the Army. His Mother helped support the family as a nurse. The family moved to Northern Virginia when he was 11. He attended West Springfield High School where he was a leader of the Choir, Spartan Personalities, and Madrigals. This is where Jon first discovered his love of singing, performing and the magic of a microphone.
Jon graduated from Virginia Tech with an undergraduate degree in 1988 and an MBA in 1990. He was a proud member of the New Virginians while at Virginia Tech. The New Virginians provided an outlet for him to share his energy and ability to shine on stage. Jon moved to Nashville, TN, in 1993, and started a career in Commercial Real Estate. He spent the past 30 years as a successful broker in Nashville. He was with Brookside Properties and Vision Real Estate before joining Kabat Real Estate Solutions in 2012. Last fall he passed the Master Broker License exam and acquired Kabat Real Estate Solutions. He was quite proud of the fact that he never earned a dollar from salary.
Jon was one of a kind. A light that shone so bright. He was our greatest and loudest cheerleader, coach, mentor, and friend; most favorite goofball, sports nut, DMB Fan, fireworks director, and purveyor of fellowship and fun; but most importantly amazing Dad, Husband, Son and Brother. To know him was to love him. To love him was to be loved by him. He lived big and loved bigger. Jon never met a stranger; only instant friends and he always made you feel important and loved. He was the life of the party with his booming voice and infectious laugh, his goofy sayings and hilarious stories. To say he leaves a void is a tremendous understatement.
His greatest joy and proudest accomplishment in life though was being a father to his two daughters, Madilyn and Morgan. They were the apple of his eye. He was the ultimate girl Dad! He bragged endlessly about them, supported them through countless softball games and School of Rock Concerts, and had a deep, strong relationship with each of them. They knew how much he loved them. He told them often. He was a master at making people feel good. It was his greatest gift.
Jon is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Theodore and Nina Sue Austin; Bob and Charleene Parker, as well as his Uncle, Jeff Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Andrea (Andi) Berry Parker, his daughters, Madilyn & Morgan; his mother, Brenda Austin Parker; Father Joe Parker and wife Monika; Brother/best friend, Chris Parker and wife Erin (Taylor Grace & Caroline); Parents-in-law Pete and Gail Blainey, Brothers-in-law, Nick and Kellie Blainey (Carter and Cora); Ryan and Jami Blainey (Maverick); his Aunt Linda and Uncle Ken Becker, cousins Ron (Julie) Becker and Jerry (Stacey) Becker as well as countless close friends.
The family would like to thank everyone for the amazing outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. We have taken comfort in the many heartwarming stories about Jon and his impact on so many.
