Johnnie Lou Calvert Felker of Myakka City, Fl went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2016. Born October 3, 1919 in Trade, Alabama and moved to Lawrence Co. Tn at 6 weeks. She graduated from Bodenham High School in Giles Co TN in 1937. She married James S. Felker December 23, 1939. They relocated to Nashville, TN in 1956. She attended Ray Reed School of Cosmetology and worked as a cosmetology instructor at Ray Reed’s and Flannery Mays’ in Nashville, TN. She later was employed at Ceil’s Beauty Salon in Nashville and worked until she was 76. In 2001 she relocated to Bradenton, FL She was a member of the Manatee Methodist Church in Bradenton Fl in recent years and served actively in each church she attended since early adulthood. Johnnie Lou loved children and taught children’s Sunday School for 43 years. Being very artisitic, she loved to paint, sketch and write poetry. She always wanted to be helpful to family and friends. She adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and stayed very involved in their lives. Predeceased by husband, James Smith Felker, parents, James and Leona Calvert, Sisters, Verdie Morgan, Vaudi Jordan, Chris Hatch and and brother Conard Calvert. Survived by son, James Terry Felker (Judy), Mt. Juliet, TN, daughter Joy Frye (Frank) Myakka City, FL, grandsons, Josh Felker (Carla) Mt. Juliet TN, Jeremy Felker (Sarah) Springfield TN, Timothy Frye ( Suzanne) Colorado Springs CO, granddaughters, Amber Frye Mitchell (Travis) Danbury CT and Alisa Frye, Colorado Springs, CO, and a sister, Bobbye Kudzma, Gaithersburg MD, Survived also by eight great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters. Interment and Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at one o’clock. Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Wednesday from eleven until one o’clock at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
