Our Uncle John was a kind, dear person!  All of us loved him so much.  Every time Cesar and I visited him, he was so happy to see us.  That meant a lot to both of us.
He knew so many important people and we loved to just sit and listen to his stories.
We will never forget the love he showed us!  Thank you, Uncle John.  You were one of a kind.

I cannot add much to what has already been said. Frazier was truly one of a kind. I will always remember his "sayings" or quotes: "He will have breakfast in the morning and No one asked my opinion". Frazier seemed to have friends from everywhere. One time, he told me had played tennis at Belle Meade Country Club and my response, "Frazier, I have never played tennis at the BMCC and his answer, "you do not know the right people" and we both laughed. He will be missed by all of us.

John Power will forever be one of my favorite residents at Belmont. When he first arrived, I was struck by his kind enthusiasm toward other people...always a polite greeting and friendly words. He'd invite me to come in and see his family photos and tell me stories of his childhood and growing up.  I often brought my newspaper to work, and made sure to give it to John first, so he could tell me about Vanderbilt and UT.  We also had some delightful conversations about Nashville folks we both knew from Christ the King and Cathedral; he even remembered that my father was classmates with his brother David.   I am honored and blessed to have known 'Mr Power'....or, as he requested of me to,  "Please, call me John." He will be missed by so many. I am so sorry for your loss.

As we approach Thanksgiving, let us give thanks for a life well lived, a life full of love and hope and faith. The beauty of Uncle John and the life he lived was the example he gave all his nieces and nephews and neighbors and brothers and sisters to live life with kindness and compassion, to treat others with respect and honor.
He would want each of us to show dignity to our fellow men and women and to say a kind word of others as he did all the days of his life.
I truly feel that GOD did call him by name to have a grand reunion with his parents and eight brothers and sisters.
John Frazier Power abided in His shadow for Life & was held in the palm of His hand.

If one thing could be said to summarize who you were as a person Uncle John it would be that you had a heart of gold and that you were a true friend. You were a great man who always helped those around him, and it's truly an honor to have known you. You had so many great stories of years past, and I always enjoyed listening to them. I hope you have a great time seeing and talking to Laura and the rest of the family again. I also hope you have a great time on the heavenly tennis courts in the sky. We all love you Uncle John. I always remember getting huge boxes of tennis balls in the mail from Uncle Frazier. Even though we didn't get to see him very often, he always remembered to send them to us! Sometimes he even included used racquets for us to hit around with. Whenever we did get to visit him, he wanted to hear about tennis and how it was going for all of us. I also always remember when he would talk about neighbor Brandt Snedeker. He will be greatly missed! He was a very special person. I only wish I had known him better than I did, but the time that I had with him was a privilege. Love and prayers to all of you!

Katherine It was such a pleasure playing tennis with your Father for so many years. Many memories and I am sure he is still watching from above.

I am crying here after reading all the sweet things being said about our wonderful uncle!  The years of 'uncle' (this is what my dad would call him!) driving up our driveway to give us sports magazines, oranges, pointsettias, pears, etc!  He would be making his rounds to the family!  He built his reputation as the 'Mayor of Kimpalong' by being kind to everyone, a great neighbor and true friend.  I was driving down Montgomery Bell Avenue once and there was about 6" of snow on the ground and I looked up and I sawJohn barely being able to walk (he was about 83 years old) on the slippery road so I said 'hop in' and we went to the 'Snedekers house' as they were out of town and he was getting their mail.  Rob and I would take John to lunch (Jim 'N Nick's) from the nursing home many times and he loved it and the chance to eat his Bar-B-Q so much!  We would always get an extra order of 'cheese muffins' that he would take back to the nursing home!  The ladies who worked at the assisted living home all loved John!  He was very special to each of them.  John and I had the best conversations about his growing up, sports, WWII, his family, things that happened many years ago!  He really could remember things from years ago very well.  I once was talking about my fathers golf foursome (late 1940's and early 1950's) and I could only name three and John quickly said 'Kerrigan'!  So many stories!  How he cared for Laura when she was dying was truly amazing.  He always spoke so highly of Katherine and Bruce and was so proud of his daughter.  I always get a kick out of John meeting Digger Phelps and later Moose Krause and later visiting Notre Dame as their guests!  I loved the man!!!!

My first memory of Uncle Frazier was breakfast at his house when he tried to talk me into eating grits and lectured me on the benefits of drinking orange juice.  I spent many happy days and nights at Uncle Frazier and Aunt Laura's house since Katherine Marr and I were the same age.  They always made me feel right at home with their love and hospitality.

I remember Uncle Frazier's letters to my mother always included extra stamps.  He was always sending her articles from The Tennessean about people she knew and/or things in which he thought she'd be interested.  He was always so thoughtful and felt for his little sister having to live in Chattanooga - so far away from her Nashville family and friends.

Uncle Frazier was a one-of-a-kind.  Growing up, he was always so interested in everything we Wolfe kids did.  He was always asking details, listening intently and looking straight at us with those twinkling blue eyes of his.

After my father died, I remember Uncle Frazier and Aunt Laura took my mother and Aunt Jody on a trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.  They all had a wonderful time together, and it really helped my mother to get away for a while.  And I know Uncle Frazier was so happy and proud he could make that happen.

Uncle Frazier's loves - besides his family and his religion - were tennis, Father Ryan, Notre Dame football, Vandy and his neighbor Brandt Snedeker.  When I was grown and had kids, he would send me many newspaper articles (with extra stamps) about each of these.

He loved his tennis and when I told him all three of my kids were playing tennis, he started sending us boxes of his used racquets and tennis balls - via UPS.  Every few months or so, there would be a huge box on my porch and I would know who it was from.

Katherine, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.  I have so many happy memories of your father, and I know you do too.  He was thoughtful, faith-filled, generous, caring, fun and kind.  What a great man!  May he rest in peace.

Uncle John, you were a true Southern Gentleman and will be greatly missed. As my dad would say, "you were a real humdinger". I'll never forget all the Klondike bars and pineapple sherbet we shared

I will always remember my Great Uncle Frazier sending us loads of tennis balls when my sibilings and I were very young. All of us loved tennis, so we'd always look forward to recieving that big box of tennis balls from him. While I didn't see him as much as I wish I could have, I always enjoyed spending time with him when I got the chance. And as I decided I wanted to take tennis more seriously, he'd always want to hear everything about my tennis tournaments and school matches. And not just to make conversation, he genuinely cared. We shared a love for tennis that always united us, and he was truly a caring and loving person. He will be greatly missed. Times like this are never easy, so I want all of you to know that you are in my prayers!

Uncle Frazier was one of a kind. When my son, Richard Jr began his college career as a golfer, Frazier sent him articles and information and was very eager to know all about it. This has been since 2009 so he was in his 80s! Wow! absolutely amazing. 
We Wolfes used to love to go see Uncle Frazier and Aunt Laura. Frazier would take us around the neighborhood and introduce us to his many friends. I remember a trip or two to Green Hills !
I also have special memories of going to Frazier's house before Ginny got married. We Wolfe girls had a blast getting all dressed up in Katherine's room and being silly and prissy.
I could go on and on with the many happy memories that involve Frazier!
He was a lot of fun and had a sincere love of life. I know my mother loved her big brother, and my father admired him greatly. I pray that Frazier is happy in heaven and surrounded by peace and love.

Hi precious Katherine, my heartfelt sympathy to you and Bruce. I loved your dad!! He was a family treasure!  I remember him pulling out a list of community happenings that he'd written down to share with me whe I visited. He knew how much I'd enjoy hearing the lixal news. How thoughtful!  The first Thanksgiving after mom died, he sent his cook to make certain we had something truly yummy to eat. What an ANGEL!!  DEAR LORD, please have mercy on our precious Uncle Frazier!  Uncle Frazier, pray for us!!

Katherine, last time I saw Uncle Frazier was in August.  He was alert and very talkative.  He showed me his room and talked to me about Aunt Laura's sister and how he loved her cooking. John Frazier Power was a kind and good man. He did many generous acts for others during his long life. I admire his goodness and enthusiasm for living life to the fullest. I am so proud to call him my Godfather. RIP Frazier. I'm sure your heavenly tennis court is awaiting you...

What a great guy was my Uncle Frazier.He loved to talk sports and articles from the Sports section. He loved to play tennis as often as he could but loved all the friendships he made along the way. I never heard an ill thought of another from his lips. He will be missed by all for his great attitude and thoughtful words whenever he crossed your path.
