Preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Evelyn Miller Kernell. Survived by children, John B. Kernell III, Timothy M. Kernell & Emily Hughes; sister, Katherine Travis; grandchildren, Shelby & Brittany Stewart; and a number of nieces & nephews.
Mr. Kernell was a Deacon & Sunday School teacher at Edgefield Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Banner Rebekah Lodge #6 & Tennessee Lodge #1, Odd Fellows.
A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at Eastland Chapel, with Dr. Thomas Dumser & Rev. Steve Saunders officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons & the Martha Class at Edgefield Baptist Church.

Visitation with the family will be 12-7 p.m. Sunday, and 1 hour prior to the service Monday, at Eastland Funeral Home.
