John Jude Griffith age 68 passed away on February 1, 2024. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Griffith and his sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Sharbel. He is survived by his wife Melissa Griffith, sons, Matthew (Sarah) Griffith and Daniel (Taylor) Griffith, grandchildren, Karena, Lynnette and Pearl Griffith and sister-law Jean Griffith.
John Was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic church where he was greatly involved with mass, Room at the Inn and coached youth football and basketball. He also would volunteer at St. Patrick’s Shelter. He also coached youth baseball at Rotary Park. He played basketball at Tennessee Tech and was called Doctor J by his teammates. He loved all things University of Tennessee sports. He was a big WWII and Vietnam War historian. John was a Desert Storm and Desert Shield veteran where he was Aircraft Load Master for the C-130 aircraft. He loved his dogs and especially his grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 192 Graylynn Dr. Nashville TN 37214, with funeral mass following.
