I still remember the night you took me out and showed me a little of Nashville.  My one and only time ever in a recording studio was thanks to you.  That's still a cherished memory.  Thank you.

Joe was a dear friend for many, many years. Her calm demeanor, eagerness to listen without judgement, her interest in everything, and playful personality made her an easy mark for anyone looking for a friend.  And, she was a great friend to animals and all things natural. Always vigilant about protecting our natural resources as well as those in need, Joe made a difference to many causes and people who were among the most vulnerable. I had the opportunity to not only be her friend but to work with her on design projects and have so many memories of our time together and I shall cherish each one of them always.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Joe. She and I worked together for years  at the SC Department of Mental Health. One of the most kind, generous, genuine, fun-loving people with whom I've had the pleasure of spending time. And what a gardener.  A beautiful person and an excellent clinician.
