Jimmy N. Davenport of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on June 23, 2015. He is preceded in passing by his parents, Lem and Wilma Newby; aunts and uncles, Colonel Wimberly, Jessie Strickland, Ola Gilliam, Charles Wimberly, Frank Wimberly, Ruth Wimberly, and Norma Jean Ramsey. He is survied by his wife, Janice Davenport; children, Tim Davenport, Cathy Davenport, and Devin Davenport; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mike Newby, Sue Lyell, Diane Clinard, and Cindy Bagsby; and beloved cat, Molly. He was a lifelong fan of Vanderbilt University athletics. Family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for all of their assistance and care. Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on June 26, 2015 from ten o’clock in the morning to one o’clock in the afternoon with funeral service to follow at one o’clock.
