He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Cox, Sr. and Mary Frances Cox.
Mr. Cox served his country in the United States Army, specializing in aviation and logistics. He loved history, this explains why he was a history major. He was a strong supporter of education and earned his Master’s degree. If being a full time student could be a career, count him in.
He was an avid sports fan with Alabama and the Braves being his favorite teams. He also enjoyed a good game of golf. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a Christian, loved the Lord, and was a member of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his daughters, Katherine Seabolt, and her husband, Nick, and, Evelyn Thompson; son, Marc Cox, and his wife, Leanne; grandchildren, Gavin, Joseph, Brylie, Knox, and Jaylin; sisters, Jan Todd, Sally Jo Scott, and Pam Johnson. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, September 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Eastland Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 904 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, Tennessee 37206. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM. Military honors and inurnment will occur Monday, September 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Nashville National Cemetery, Nashville, TN.
