Jeanette Rudy was a Very Special individual who loved easily and was successful in building perhaps the finest Duck Hunting stamp collection in private hands that exists!
During the thirty or so years we knew her she was always Jeanette was a very kind person with dedicated goals and it was our pleasure to assist her in building the  world's finest federal duck stamp collection which she donated to the Smithsonian Museum for other generations to enjoy.
We spent many, many days with Jeanette and her collection and enjoyed every minute of our contact.....She  was dedicated to many causes and building a world class Federal Duck Stamp Collection was  a goal she successfully accomplished.

The world is truly a sadder place without Jeanette!!!       Thank you for everything Dear Jeanette....YOU WERE ONE OF A KIND THE LIKES OF WHICH THE WORLD WILL NOT SEE AGAIN!!!

Ms Rudy was a wonderful woman.  So full of life.  I had the opportunity to work with her on a number of projects, including the Jr Duck Stamp legislation where she was generous with her time and talents and critical to the legislation's passage.  It's only one of many examples where she demonstrated her love for young people.  I will miss her smile, the twinkle in her eyes, and her warm, all embracing hug.

I briefly knew Ms Rudy, but came to fully appreciate her gentle kindness and wonderous giving of self. She has been a role model, friend, and mentor to all of us. May she rest in peace.

Jeanette effected positive changes in the lives of all those she met through her caring and generous nature.  She also could see the potential in people and projects and made great things possible.  She took her first tour of the National Postal Museum, which is part of the Smithsonian Institution, when it was still rubble and cinder blocks, but she grasped its great potential.  She served on the Museum's initial Advisory Council and helped shape its mission and message.  She also furnished many of her remarkable philatelic treasures for its displays and she lent her name to one of its first galleries.  Patrons like Jeanette are a true treasure, one that those of the Smithsonian family will certainly miss.

My friendship with Jeanette Rudy was all about love and respect. We each admired the other. It is flattering to find that my painting of Jeanette is her outdoor gear is in the collection of the photographs of this unique special individual. Jeanette Rudy is a great loss to our community.She was a great friend and a loving member of the Cumberland University family for many years. Certainly our sympathy is extended to her family and especially her sisters she often praised and talked about.

Jeanette inspired her students in the school of nursing to be kind and loving as well as learned in their profession. We will never forget her great speeches at the Pinning Ceremony at graduation. She was a valued  on the Board of Trust for her wisdom and strength of character.

Yet she was fun loving and enjoyed life to the fullest. My wife Connie and I enjoyed being with her always for she was always entertaining. For example, we remember when she would give an  unbelieving waiter a $100 tip, or pay the Cumberland baseball team $10,000 to rake her leaves!  She was very generous always and would take no credit for her good deeds. Finally,our President,Dr Ray Phillips persuaded her to accept an honorary Doctorate degree which she really earned after years of hard work for the university. She always said she wanted the student nurses to be all they could be and was a great role model for them.

Please know that all her friends at Cumberland stand ready to be of any assistance possible to her wonderful family.

Having been in the world of nonprofits most of my life I have met many individuals who cared and loved through their philanthropy but certainly I can think of no one any kinder than Dr. Rudy.  She meant much to me personally as a friend; always willing to listen and provide advice.  This community has lost one of its true gems and will create a tremendous void.  May God Bless this family and let us all be thankful for having known such a special lady.

While not a member of our Church, Mrs. Rudy was always a wonderful neighbor and great friend to our congregation.  She was very frequently in attendance at our choir programs and childrens musicals, and was a most gracious and generous person.  Pennington United Methodist Church will miss her greatly.

Jeanette's love of life is difficult to equal. She was one of the most generous people I have ever known. She cared sincerely for the underdog and gave without hesitation to those in need. A lovely human being that I feel honored to have known.

Her faith, sense of humor, philanthropic spirit, love of hunting and people will always be rememberd by those of us in El Dorado, Kansas. She left a wonderful legacy to her brother, Felix, in her generous gifts to the handicapped in our community.  Our memories of her love and support of hunting are precious too.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family of Ms. Rudy.  To a great friend and an even greater person.  She truely is one of the best outdoors advocate that I have ever known.  Full of grace and compassion every day.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family and the Lord has one great Angel in heaven.

I just found out about Mrs. Rudy's death.  I cannot begin to explain the influence she had on me and my family.  Being one of her "children" growing up, I was on a daily basis exposed to the rich world of history and anthropology.  Indeed, I owe my present career as a museum curator and historian largely to the friendship and influence of Mrs. Rudy.  She will be sorely missed.

A very bright light has gone out in Donelson. I met Mrs. Rudy when I was a little girl and have always had such admiration for her and her generosity to so many. She will forever be one of the "famous" people in Donelson's History and I ,for one, will forever cherish her book about the Bend. RIP good and faithful servant.

We will truly miss one of the most kind hearted, giving, people I know. I met her when I first started going to the Governor's One Shot Turkey Hunt and have never missed one. It was really fitting that this past one was made in her honor. She will be hard to replace and America needs more people like her.

What a loss to our world!  I am a former teacher in El Dorado, Kansas where she spread her love in our community.  My third grade students were always so excited about her visits to LIncoln Elementary.  I admired her enthusiasm for life and her extreme generosity.  My condolences to her family, Jeanne Evans

Dr. Rudy was a truly remarkable woman who spent her life doing for and providing for others. I never got the chance to meet her, but she was a cousin to my father. He shared some interesting stories about Janette. I understand she was quite prolific with Skeet shooting. God bless her and the family.

"Mrs. R" left this world a better place.  She was a grand lady who always showed kindness, compassion, and generosity to those who needed a hand up. She was a legend and l never heard anyone say an unkind word about her.Heaven is even more joyous as she's heard those words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Rest in peace Mrs. R, we're all going to miss you, but will remember you always.

Jeanette touched many lives, some we know and some that has gone with her to Glory.  I know she touched my life in a way that only helped me grow as a person and a business woman.  I strive to be the kind of person Nette.  We shared many Holiday drives to Huntsville and I will cherish our conversations and memories.  I enjoyed going to visit her and just listening to her stories of where she had been and what she was going to do next.  Nette lived life to the fullest.  Nette will be greatly missed but she will NEVER be FORGOTTEN. Anyone who was with her more than a minute has a piece of her strength and beauty left on them.  Thank YOU Nette for leaving your fingerprints of kindness in my life.  You will be missed! Much sympathy to all of the Family!

I have wonderful fond memories of Jeanette. I knew her from the bank many years ago. She was a very special giving, caring person. Our paths often crossed over the years and she always remembered me. She will be missed. She has certainly left her mark on those who knew her. Rest in Peace lovely lady!

Ms. Rudy was a kind and generous lady.  The Sales Office staff at TWRA looked forward to her visits; she always brightened their day.  She had such an easy going manner and a wonderful sense of humor.  A lovely lady who leaves lovely memories.

We should celebrate the good that Ms Rudy added to so many worthwhile endeavors from Medicine to Habitat Conservation and protection of our Hunting Heritage.  We are grateful for her and will miss her.

I had the great fortune of meeting Mrs. Rudy in the early 1990's when I served as Nashville DU's Chair. She invited me to her home for a cup of coffee and at her kitchen table simply asked "How can I help your event be a success?" Several years later, after her becoming a Life Sponsor, bringing her duck stamp colletion to a dinner and providing many other donations, I had to ask her "What can I do to show my thanks to you?" We agreed that going fishing would suffice. I arranged to take her for a day of bass "catching" on Tims Ford with guide Clyde Hill. This remains a fond memory for me of my dear friend. I first met Mrs. Rudy in the early 1990's. She took a special fondness to me as a young man in high school. She was a mentor to me during my time in the Marine Corps and just before getting out she talked me into going into career in Wildlife. I owe my career as a now Wildlife Biologist largely in part this the jewel of a woman. Your mark on this world and conservation will never be forgotten!

Ms Rudy was one of a kind. Her love for the outdoors and hunting brought her to Kansas to hunt the wild turkey. Those of us from the Kansas Governor's One Shot Turkey Hunt remember her smile and infectious laugh, even when she couldn't hunt anymore and just came for a visit. She will be missed.

Ms. Jeanette Rudy was such a special person. I loved her very much. How in the world will J.R. survive without her. She was his life. She gave me a picture of J.R. and always gave me an animal calendar every year. She will be greatly missed and forever loved. I will miss her every day of my life.
