He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on March 19, 1954 to Doyle and Ranelle Austin Gaw. His family moved to Tennessee growing up and he graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1972. Jay went on to further his education at the University of Tennessee where he received his Master’s in Architecture.
Jay married Holly D. Gaw on August 14, 1999 in Brentwood, TN. He spent majority of his career working at Caterpillar Financial.
Jay is survived by his loving Wife, Holly D. Gaw; Daughter, Tara J. Christian; Mother, Ranelle Gaw; Siblings, Mark Gaw, Amanda Gaw, Tyler Gaw and Turner Gaw.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Doyle S. Gaw.

A Celebration of Life for Jay will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 at 4:00 O'Clock in the afternoon at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
