Jannie Elizabeth Tallant Baumgartner, born June 5, 1922, passed away on June 2, 2016. She was a native of Chattanooga, TN but had resided in Nashville, TN for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Raymond Baumgartner and grandson Tsali Colton. She is survived by two daughter: Jan Seymour (Randy) and Judy Serna; son, Ray Baumgartner (Ruth Ann); five grandsons: Kevin Whitehurst (Seana); Jonathan Whitehurst, Matthew Clifford (Laura); Jeff Baumgartner (Sara); Chris Baumgartner (Brittany) and one granddaughter, Lori Whitehurst, and seven great-grandchildren. Jannie was a graduate of Carson-Newman College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She taught school for many years at Antioch High School and was the librarian for Overton High School. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Judson Baptist Church. There will be an hour of visitation before the service at the church.
