

Janice Louise (Jones) Trosper was born August 21, 1948, in Hobart, Oklahoma to Charles and Oleta Jones as the youngest of four, she completed their family. She passed away on December 12, 2023. The family moved around the state of Oklahoma growing up, ultimately settling in Oklahoma City, where she graduated from high school and started her career with the United States Department of Agriculture.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Clifford.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ed, sisters Lucille Wendelken of Yukon, Oklahoma, Linda (Darrell) Jordan of Bethany, Oklahoma, son Eddie, Jr (Crystal) of Salem, Missouri, and daughter Alicia (Jonathan) Hayes of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her grandchildren Zeff Trosper, Rebecca (Zane) Jarvis of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Jacob Trosper of Coffeyville, Kansas, Neva Trosper of Salem, Missouri, and Charlie Hayes of Nashville. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Jim Trosper of LaVergne, Tennessee, Connie Sproles of Sevierville, Tennessee, Rick (Rose) Trosper of Troy, Michigan, and Patricia (Bryan) Allen of Sevierville, Tennessee, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews she saw as her children and grandchildren.
Jan was an auditor for the United States Marshals Service for the last 20-plus years of her career and was dubbed “Sergeant Major” by one of her coworkers, for being such a stickler for rules and regulations, and not letting things slide. She had an attention to detail like no other, sometimes spending hours trying to find a penny when balancing the checkbook. She was an avid reader and loved to cook and bake. After retirement, Ed and Jan took to taking extended road trips to visit friends and family across the United States, only leaving the Northeast and Alaska to explore.
The family would like to thank the staff at Enhabit Hospice: Ms. Diane, Ms. Marisol, Ms. Dot, Ms. Winnie, Ms. Sharika, Chaplain Andre, and Mr. Tim for their tender love and care. Pallbearers will be Eddie Trosper, Jacob Trosper, Jonathan Hayes, Charlie Hayes, Jeff Couch, Chris Couch, Monte Jones. Honorary pallbearers are the men and women of the US Marshal’s Service Middle District of Tennessee..
