KROHN, Janice Newman died peacefully at the age of 107 on March 28, 2022 in Nashville. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernerd Krohn for over 73 years; mother of Kenneth (Karen) and Kathy (the late Harvey Amster); grandmother of Heidi Amster and Irene Amster (Adam Paz); aunt of many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Anna (Wasserstrom) and Mitchell Newman, she was predeceased by her sister Evelyn Miller. Born on November 23, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio, Janice graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and then from Case Western Reserve University's Flora Stone Mather College in 1936. She and Bernie moved to Nashville in 1956. They owned and operated International Travel in Green Hills for over 50 years, extensively sharing their enthusiasm for learning about diverse cultures and love of travel. Janice was an avid reader, walker, life-long learner and loyal friend. Private services were held. Memorial donations may be made to The Temple, the Gordon Jewish Community Center or the Nashville Public Library Foundation.
