James Francis Taylor

He was the son of the late James Leo Taylor and Margaret Frances (Baltz) Taylor, and the grandson of Homer M. and Mary Agnes Burns Taylor and Joseph P. and Marie Ehemann Baltz.

Mr. Taylor graduated from Cumberland High School in Nashville and was a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1979.

On June 2, 1973 he married Sherry Anne Owens of Paris, Tennessee.

Jim and Sherry celebrated their 50th Anniversary in June.

Mr Taylor retired in 2019 as a commissioned Property Guard Supervisor for the Metro Nashville Police Department.

From 1993-2003 was employed by Peterbilt Motors

He was also employed as President of the Mobile Alabama U-Haul Moving Company from 1986 to 1990

He is survived by his wife Sherry, his sons: James Francis, Christopher Brian, Charles Kevin (Naomi) and daughters: Yeni Elizabeth Taylor and Sindi Anne Taylor all of Nashville, and by his grandchildren: James Taylor III, Shelby Taylor, Lilly-Grace Taylor, Samuel Christian Taylor, Alex Marie Frankenbach, Thomas “Evan” Frankenbach, Emma Claire Taylor and Anthony Phillip Boyd. Brothers: David Taylor, Pat (Jody) Taylor, sisters: Joan (Lester) King, Theresa(Robert) King, Elaine (Robert) Word, and Mary Taylor, all of Nashville.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12pm Friday, December 22, 2023 at Eastland Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4pm until 8pm and Friday 10am until 12pm at the funeral home.
