Colonel Jim Blevins, age 61, went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2019. His passing was sudden and unexpected but he was surrounded by family. He was born on December 2, 1957 to James Howard Blevins and Evie Taylor in Murfreesboro, TN.
Jim is survived by two sisters Sherry Blevins Davis and Brenda Blevins Daniel, two sons James W. Blevins and Jeremiah Jones, fiancé Eva Etters and sister Juanita Casto, nine nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Larry Blevins, sister Rhonda Keith, mother Evie Taylor, and grandmother Ruby Johnson.
Jim Blevins was a veteran who served twenty-two and a half years in the United States military, including time stationed overseas. He retired from the military with honors. Jim also retired from Nissan after 23 years of employment with the company. In his spare time, Jim loved working on and collecting cars. He had a big heart and was always trying to make others laugh. He was loved by all.
Visitation will be held for close family and friends on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. Interment will commence at one-thirty.
