Mr. James LeRoy Barton age 83, of Nashville, TN, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015. Mr. Barton was born in Fountain City, IN, on August 3, 1931, the son of the late Kenneth Merle Barton and Alda Ethel Alexander Barton. He graduated from Minnesota Bible College and Vanderbilt Divinity School. Mr. Barton ministered to First Christian Church in Nashville and Madison for many years. He had a strong love for God and loved his family. Survivors include his wife, Julia Ellen Barton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Andy Thompson, Priscilla McGuire, and Angela and Tracy Son; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Julie Barton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Barton. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015, at ten o’clock in the morning, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. The family will receive friends Friday from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening, Woodlawn Roesch-Patton-Funeral Home.
