James Milton "Jim" Bailey Jr.

Mr. Bailey was born in Atlanta, GA, on March 12, 1953, the son of the late James Milton Bailey, Sr. and Leila Mai “Lu” Johnson Bailey. He attended Calvary Methodist Church. Mr. Bailey worked as an insurance broker and at the Bailey Company, where he formed long lasting relationships. He attended Dykes High School in Atlanta, GA, Webb School, and Belmont University and was past president of Cumberland Heights Alumni Association. Jim loved pugs, good music, family, friends, and a fine cigar. He lived in Atlanta for ten years and dreamed of moving back there someday to be near friends.

Survivors include two sisters, Laura Busby (Tim) and Mary Neal (Wink); a brother, Bert Bailey (Kim); three nephews, Ryan Bailey, Bailey Neal, and Justin Bailey; a niece, Melissa Neal; and his beloved dog, Eva Mae.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at one o’clock, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Tuesday from six o’clock until eight o’clock and Wednesday from noon until the funeral hour at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
