Howard Lewis Copeland, 76 of Nashville TN. Howard went to be with his Savior Monday July 26 as his family stood by his side. Born June 28, 1934 birthplace was Birmingham, KY. His family settled in Benton where he married Judy Rayburn. He was a Benton city councilman for several years. Howard was a member and Deacon at First Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. Howard and Judy moved to Nashville in 1993. He was a Real Estate Broker/Auctioneer and an accomplished singer/songwriter. Howard and Judy founded the music group The Village Singers and spent many years performing in and around the area with Scottie Henson and Herb Chapman as the main group. Howard was a member and Deacon of Brentwood Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United Sates Army. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Judy Rayburn Copeland, Nashville, TN; Two Daughters, Sheri Copeland Smith and Husband Barry of Brentwood, TN; Lori Copeland Magda and Husband Darren of Brentwood, TN; And Granddaughter Rachel Lee Franklin of Brentwood, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilson and Claudine Copeland of Benton, KY Services:Visitation will be Thursday July, 29th from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Thompson Lane in Nashville, TN. Funeral service will be Friday July 30th at 1pm in the Chapel at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN with interment at Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum. Barry Smith will officiate the service.
