Henry proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He spent most of his career as a quality control engineer for aerospace defense contractors and the chemical industry. He was not only a gentle man, he lived everyday as a gentleman. He was a faithful and active member of Una Baptist Church.
Henry is preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Helen B. Smith.
Survivors include his daughter, Janet Smith of Nashville, TN; son, Jim (Sharon) Smith of Spartanburg, SC; 3 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at eleven-thirty in the morning Saturday, August 16, 2014 from Woodlawn's Dignity Hall. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
A Gathering of Friends will be held from five o'clock in the evening until eight Friday, August 15, 2014 and one hour prior to service time at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Una Baptist Benevolence Fund, 1931 Murfreesboro Rd., Nashville, TN 37217.
