Hazel Myers Slaughter, age 87, of Ashland City, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Hazel was born May 29, 1935 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late, Robert B. Myers and Lena King Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Henry T. Slaughter and sons, Robert Don Slaughter and Michael W. Slaughter;
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Todd) Davis of Ashland City, Tennessee; son, H. David (Karen) Slaughter of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Timothy K. Davis of Delray Beach, Florida and Laurel (Ricardo) Alvarez of El Paso, Texas; siblings, Audrey (Hugh) McIntosh of Leesville, South Carolina, Arnold (Ann) Myers of Saucier, Mississippi and a host of nieces and nephews.
Hazel was a vocalist with her late husband Henry, known throughout the Gospel Music Industry.
They were not only musicians, but ministered the gospel through song to audiences across the United States and Canada. They enjoyed a long career working and traveling together. Above all, Hazel loved spending time with her family and friends. She encouraged and shared the love of Christ with everyone she met.
Hazel and Henry made numerous friends at churches they attended over the years including, Belmont Church of Nashville, Calvary Chapel of Goodlettsville and most recently, Pleasant View First Baptist Church of Pleasant View. Hazel enjoyed serving in the local community outreach of Ashland City.
A Celebration of Life Service for Henry and Hazel, will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Pleasant View First Baptist Church, 2555 TN-49, Pleasant View, TN 37146.
