Harriet (McClellan) Barrentine of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2022 in Murfreesboro. She was born to the late Harry and Dannie (Robinson) McClellan on January 13, 1939 in Columbia, Tennessee.
Harriet married Moody Louis Barrentine, Jr on July 29, 1960 in Kornwestheim, Germany. Harriet was a kindergarten teacher for over 20 years at Concord Church of Christ in Brentwood, Tennessee. She also served as an assistant for Nashville Electric Service, and a bookkeeper for Fleet Transport. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was kind, gentle, devoted to and loved God. She treated everyone with respect and was always ready to help in any way. She was steadfast in her beliefs and ready to defend what was right. She never held a grudge or malice in her heart against others. She loved her family and worked every day to better their lives. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening, reading books, listening to gospel music, visiting family and helping others. She was a member of East Main Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Moody Barrentine; children, Dana Melton, Shannon Barrentine, and Louis (Lisa) Barrentine; grandchildren, Austin (Natalie) Melton, Courtney (Kevin) Zahn, Gracie Barrentine, Riley Barrentine, Laurel Barrentine; great-grandchildren, Maverick, Willow, Kynlee; brother, Bruce (Brenda) McClellan; sister-in-law, Barbara McClellan.
Harriet is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dannie McClellan; brother, William McClellan.
A visitation for Harriet will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Following will be a graveside service 1:00 PM Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204,
